Immediately noticeable was its uniquely attractive appearance with beautifully contoured air entries and shapely fuel bowls. This coupled with its vast array of ground-breaking features set it apart. To eradicate internal porosity Demon introduced billet metering blocks and base plates. To eliminate impediments to the air flow Demon initiated ridge-free concentric venturii.
To overcome the dangers of fuel contacting hot exhausts during float-level checks, Demon instigated large capacity fuel bowls with sight glasses. To nourish the ambitions of adventurous tuners, Demon invented interchangeable venturii, idle-feed restrictors, and air bleeds. Of its type, these were and remain today the most potent carburetors ever devised. Demon innovation has not been confined to the enduring modular four-barrel configuration.
In the early years of this century, Demon Carburetion launched the unique SixShooter induction system and in introduced the evocative Demon A wonderfully nostalgic arrangement featuring three two-barrel cfm carburetors mounted on a proprietary intake manifold, the SixShooter fuels small- and big-block Chevrolets as well as LS engines, small-block Fords, and some Pontiacs.
Engineered for Flatheads, Y-blocks, Hemis, and Nail-Heads, the Demon 98 is a retro-fit two-barrel high-performance carburetor that suits thirties-style three-bolt intake manifolds. The 98 owes its supremacy to its practical design. The Demon 98 is a direct replacement for the Stromberg 97 or the Holley Both the 98 and the Sixshooter are scheduled for re-release in late

Drag Racing Magazine, May Lawrence and four others made application to the Fremont Planning Commission to buld a drag strip and airport near the Nimitz Freeway between Warm Springs and Irvington. Bobby and Joanie were manning the security room, also chatting with ham operators all around the world, as the internet was starting to crash worldwide, world gone dark. Joanie explained that the whole world was in a rage, rioting, lawlessness, anarchy for the sake of anarchy. Gave them both a hug, asked Ronnie about Cain, her hesitation, her nervousness, enough to alert Jill, as we opened the door to his room, I was ready to kill, wow, the room was empty, the fuck had disappeared.
We got Ronnie and Mommy to agree they felt a frigid blast of air, then there was a slight cloudy vapor racing across the room and through the wall, what the fuck, over. Everyone was jumpy, tough to even comprehend the shit going down, we got everone settled down, Jill explaining that Cain was a vessel for evil, was no longer human, wasn’t even alive, a zombie for Lucy. He knew all our secrets, Jills laugh, it didn’t fuck matter, Lucy already knew, Cain was meant to stay with us till the real war came, that he was to visible, his evil to apparent, he had failed, Lucy had failed, Jills power trumped all.
My turn, ordered everyone to get to work, something always needed doing, sent Marcel and Fred to escort Trevor back to camp. The one Statie had died, the other two looked tough, open, bloody wounds, the way Jill looked, the bright white surrounding her, powering her, her hands gently pressing on the cops wounds, the way the holes closed up, all gone, surreal, my girl, my Goddess.

The name is pronounced “B-YOU-ick. History Louis Chevrolet driving a Buick Bug in the Vanderbilt Cup Buick originated as an independent motor car manufacturer, the Buick Motor Company, incorporated on May 19, by the Scottish-American David Dunbar Buick who invented the overhead valve engine on which the company’s success was based in Flint, Michigan. In the struggling company was taken over by James Whiting, who brought in William C. Durant to manage his new acquisition. Buick himself unwisely sold his stock for a small sum at his departure, and died in very modest circumstances forty years later.
Durant was a natural, however, and Buick soon became the largest car maker in America. Using the profits from this, Durant embarked on a series of several dozen corporate acquisitions, calling his new mega-corporation General Motors. At first, the different manufacturers who comprised General Motors competed against each other, but Durant put a stop to that. He wanted each General Motors division to target one class of buyer, and in his new scheme Buick was near the top—only the luxurious Cadillac brand had more prestige.
In , the Buick Motor Division launched the Marquette sister brand, designed to help bridge the price gap between Buick and Oldsmobile, however Marquette was discontinued in Even today, Buick retains that position in the GM lineup. The ideal Buick customer was comfortably off; possibly not quite rich enough to afford a Cadillac or not desiring the ostentation of one, but definitely in the market for a car a cut above the norm.
Pat Foster “I’ve been involved in many motorsports through the years and know for sure that drag racing done properly is as tough as it gets. For something that appears so simple it is terribly complicated. Pat Foster was a man’s man and a racers racer. His entire life was was steeped in motorsports and drag racing was his first and last love. His accomplishments are far to numerous to remember, let alone mention.

It was not much to see – really just a small board-and-batten stand set back on a corner lot – but it was destined to revolutionize the food industry in the United States. The Pig Stand concept was simple: Thus was born the drive-in restaurant of businessman and entrepreneur Jesse G. Kirby and his financial partner, physician Reuben W. These men reasoned that America’s love affair with the car would affect the restaurant business, as it already had transcontinental travel and highway construction.
Their drive-in was an overnight success, as the curious and hungry alike converged on the stand to sample the pig sandwich and to be waited on by young men wearing white caps, white shirts, and black bow ties. A word was coined to describe these waiters – “carhops” – because they ran to approaching vehicles and hopped on the running boards before the cars had come to a full stop. As early carhops worked for tips alone, the competition for customers was keen.

Intercity Drive-In Hot rods and old cars were always synonymous with going to the drive-in theater. Fort William and Port Arthur was no exception. We had the Intercity Drive-In. It wasn’t anywhere near what we call intercity now, but way up Oliver Road near where our new hospital is now. The theater and property were almost across Oliver Road from the then and present day Port Arthur golf and country club. The property was huge and held a couple of hundred cars, had a great concession, and a playground for the kids near the base of the massive screen.
